Ask yourself these questions: are your cheeks less firm than they used to be? Have you been told you look tired even though you feel great? No matter how good your genes are, or how thorough your beauty regime, time will take its toll on your skin. As time marches on, it’s only natural that a little facial skin-sagging occurs, possibly giving you a sunken look. If you’re in the younger age bracket, you may desire the contours that previously only prominent cheekbones could deliver.
The good news is: this doesn’t mean a visit to the plastic surgeon for a facelift. Dermal fillers can make your cheeks look fuller, firmer and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The best part is, dermal fillers don’t just enhance your cheek area; they can reduce the appearance of jowls, give you back that lost volume and rejuvenate the face.
Dermal fillers are an injectable solution. Pain is minimal, and you’ll be able to go about your business immediately, unlike taking the surgical-procedure path. You may be advised to avoid strenuous activities for the next day or so after the procedure; it’s best to speak with your practitioner to get the best advice. Consider cheek enhancement to make you look as good as you feel.
Cheek Enhancement aims to:
- improve the shape and contours of your cheeks
- smooth out any depressions or lines in the cheek area
- restore lost volume in the cheeks and tear troughs

Who can have Cheek Enhancement Treatment?
Cheek Enhancement Treatment is ideal for people have have noticed some saginess in the check area. Dermal Fillers in this instance are used to make your cheeks look a little fuller and reduce unsightly jowls and wrinkles. Alternatively, younger patients may simply desire more prominent and defined cheekbones.
What does Cheek Enhancement treatment involve?
This procedure is used to lift and rejuvenate your cheeks, all without the need for surgical operations. Dermal filler (made from natural gel) is injected into the cheek area to improve the appearance of your cheeks and combat saggy, aged-looking skin
How long does the procedure last?
Most procedures will take up to 30 minutes.
Is the treatment painful?
The discomfort experienced by the patient is quite minimal and generally well tolerated. To aid in reducing discomfort during the procedure, the treating doctor may choose to have anaesthetic cream or ice put on the area prior to treatment or may opt to provide a local nerve block.
What results can I expect?
Cheek Enhancement with Dermal Fillers will plump up and improve the shape and volume of your cheeks and cheekbones. It will also smooth out lines and wrinkles, producing an instant effect that will leave your face feeling younger and fresher, with a more youthful appearance.
When can I resume normal activities?
Patients can return to normal activities immediately following the procedure.
When will I see results?
Results are seen immediately following treatment but will continue to improve with time as the hyaluronic acid absorbs water and any bruising or swelling settles down.
How long will the results last?
The effects of the treatment are long lasting but not permanent as the dermal filler is naturally degraded by the body over time. Generally speaking, dermal fillers can last between 6-12 months and sometimes longer. However, this will depend on the type and amount of dermal filler used and how fast your body breaks it down (body metabolism). Our doctors and nurses will discuss this in further detail at your initial consultation.
How do I maintain my results?
After your initial treatment, follow-up sessions are usually recommended to maintain results. At Sculpture Clinic, our doctors and nurses adopt a conservative approach so as to provide natural results. If a top up treatment is required, this will be scheduled in within a certain time frame.
What are some of the side effects of Cheek Enhancement with Dermal Fillers?
As with any cosmetic medical treatment, occasional side effects may occur. In the first few hours following treatment, the area treated may feel sore and puffy. Over the next 24-48 hours, you may experience further tenderness, bruising and swelling but this should subside after this time.
Allergies to Hyaluronic acid fillers are extremely rare.
What brand of dermal fillers do we use?
Due to rules and guidelines set out by the Department of Health Therapeutic Goods Administration (view the TGA website), we cannot list the various dermal filler brands in use. However, our Cosmetic Surgeon or Cosmetic Nurse will discuss the various treatments and brands available at your initial consultation.
Is this procedure safe?
Dermal Fillers have been internationally approved for medical use for over 20 years. They have been researched and performed worldwide. Significant side effects are not common but will still be discussed with you at your initial consultation.
Cautions and Contraindications
You should not have this treatment if:
- There is any type of infection on the face (Herpes, Bacterial)
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
Full list of side effects, cautions and contraindications will be discussed at your initial consultation.
Who performs Cheek Enhancement?
At The Sculpture Clinic, treatments are performed by Dr Peter Paraskevas (Cosmetic Surgeon) or Katrina Bonham (Cosmetic Nurse). As Dermal Fillers are a Schedule 4 Prescription only drug, it is important that treatment is carried out by a qualified Cosmetic Doctor.
Can the Treatment be combined with other products or procedures?
Dermal Fillers are often combined with other cosmetic procedures such as anti-wrinkle injections and Absorbable Thread Lifts. These three treatments can supplement each other quite effectively. A very careful assessment at your initial consultation will determine which combination of treatment is most suitable for optimal facial contouring and rejuvenation. Patients are always reminded that treatment is highly individualised and will vary from person to person.
- Refrain from touching or rubbing the filled area for at least 6 hours following your treatment
- Avoid extremely high or low temperatures.
